Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinct mix of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She's performed on Broadway and during the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang and performed piano. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical training began on Atlanta's R&B Scene. It was remixed and has become a part of her set. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. in 2005 Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in his stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) approached her for an opportunity to be the choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to sing as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
